Queenstown Car Club Novice Day 20 April 2024

Get ready to rev your engines and feel the adrenaline rush as you dive headfirst into the exhilarating world of autocross events!

Whether you're an enthusiast or a newcomer with a thirst for speed, autocross offers an accessible and thrilling entry point into the world of motorsport. Precision and safety are paramount as you navigate your way through a challenging course marked by cones, twists, and turns.

Learn how to hone your driving skills and test the limits of both yourself and your vehicle after a morning of understanding the motorsport industry and all the good things that keep you safe and able to step up to the challenge of future events. But how do you get started? Fear not, aspiring autocrosser! From joining local events to understanding the rules and regulations, our experienced instructors will steer you in the right direction.

This is a FREE EVENT for all of those who are motorsport curious. The only requirements are basic safety gear (helmet and cotton/motorsport overalls and covered leather/motorport shoes) and a car. If it has a WOF, chances are it will be perfect and the event location in Gibbston Valley is suitable for all regular road cars. Unfortunately no SUVs or pickup trucks.

Our club car will be available but spaces are very limited so make sure to get in quick if you'd like to secure a seat.

Throughout the day we will cover the way a clubsport motorsport event is run, breakdown the different levels of safety equipment needed at various levels of motorpsort and the vehicle requirements for not only the events the Queenstown Car Club runs but those at higher levels as well. From there we will move onto a few motorkhana stages followed by an autocross later in the afternoon. For more info on what clubsport events look like including the motorkhana and autocross check the link here https://motorsport.org.nz/clubsport/

No prior knowledge or experience is required as that is what this day is all about. Just fill out an entry form and either email to queenstowncarclub@gmail.com or bring it with you on the day. If you're not sure if you will able to run on the day just head out on the morning of the event as we will be accepting entries on the day as well.

Event opens from 10am

Age 13 to 17 require parental permission.
